Louisville Football Improves to 4-3 After Defeating Syracuse on the Road.
The Cardinals (4-3, 3-2 ACC) scored 28 points in a wild first half that saw the teams combine for 669 yards—the most in an ACC half since 2022—before locking down Syracuse in the second half. Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz accounted for three touchdowns, including a program-record 82-yard scoring run that gave Louisville its first lead at 14-10. He finished 14-of-26 for 310 yards with one passing touchdown and two interceptions, while also rushing for 53 yards and two scores.
Keyjuan Brown added two short-yardage touchdowns for Louisville. Isaac Brown’s 46-yard touchdown reception just before halftime put the Cardinals up 28-23 at the break. After a quiet third quarter, Louisville’s defense forced multiple turnovers—including interceptions by Cam White and others, plus a fumble recovery—helping set up Brown’s second score in the fourth quarter for the final margin. Louisville also recorded 11 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Syracuse (2-4, 0-4 ACC) got a career day from receiver Umari Hatcher (13 catches, 224 yards, one touchdown) and solid production from quarterback Malachi Nelson (315 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions). The Orange, however, were undone by second-half turnovers and stalled drives, extending their ACC losing streak to 11 games.
Louisville, which was outgained 462-425, heads into its bye week with a two-game winning streak and momentum under coach Jeff Brohm. Syracuse travels to North Carolina next.
